Dr. Thomas Phan is double board-certified in Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. A California native, he graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia), where he received multiple academic honors.
Dr. Phan specializes in advanced, image-guided interventional treatments for a broad range of pain conditions, including those affecting the spine, joints, nerves, and musculoskeletal system. He is highly skilled in procedures such as spinalcord and peripheral nerve stimulation for complex pain syndromes, minimally invasive lumbar decompression for spinalst enosis, and regenerative orthobiologics for musculoskeletal injuries. Committed to staying current with advancements in the field, he maintains active membership in the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine. He has also presented nationally on peripheral nerve stimulation and postamputation pain.
